Cairos as an alternative to Quipu

Quipu is an invoicing and accounting program aimed at autónomos and small companies, with document scanning and a bank connection inside its plans. Here are its list prices, checked and dated, and what each one does better.

What each one costs

Quipu's are the list prices, without the welcome offer that was running that day. And there is a difference of method worth pointing out: on their page we saw no indication of whether the prices include VAT, so we do not claim it either way.

Quipu planper monthUsers includedScans a monthBanks
Starter17,00 €130Up to 3
Solution30,00 €1250Up to 10
Premium59,00 €3350Not shown in the table

Taken from getquipu.com/es/plan-de-precios on 25 August 2026. That day their site advertised a 15-day trial and 50% off for three months; annual payment was shown as €168, €300 and €588 a year — that is, €14, €25 and €49 a month — and an extra user at €5 a month. That page showed no permanent free plan, only the trial. To keep the comparison clean: the column above is their month-by-month price, the same as the Cairos one.

And what Cairos costs

Cairos planper monthWhat they give you and where they limit you
Free0 €30 documents a year · 1 user · 1 company
Cuarzo10 €500 documents a year · 2 users · 1 company
Ámbar25 €1,500 documents a year · 5 users · 1 company
Jade50 €5,000 documents a year · 10 users · up to 3 companies
Zafiro100 €20,000 documents a year · 25 users · 5 companies · 150 GB
Rubí175 €60,000 documents a year · 60 users · 15 companies · 400 GB
Diamante275 €Documents, users and companies with no limit · 1 TB

Prices are per company and exclude VAT, the same ones on the pricing page. The column shows the month-by-month price; paid annually they work out at €8, €20, €40 and €80 a month. The free plan does not expire and asks for no card: it is not a trial, it is a plan.

These prices go out of date

The prices in the table are the list prices published on 25 August 2026, without promotions and excluding VAT. A program can change them tomorrow, and welcome promotions change almost every month. Before you decide, go to their website and look for yourself. If you see anything out of date on this page, write to us at hola@cairos.es and we will correct it.

Plainly put

What Quipu is better at

Three things it advertises on its site that we do not provide today. If any of them is the one that sorts out your day, do not switch.

Document scanning included

Their plans include 30, 250 and 350 scans a month. For anyone receiving fifty supplier invoices a month and typing them in by hand, that is real hours. Cairos does not sell that feature today.

A bank connection on every plan

Up to 3 bank accounts on the entry plan and up to 10 on the next one. In Cairos reconciliation is done by uploading the statement, and it comes with the Ámbar plan, at €25 a month.

A gestoría in the same place

Their site offers an optional tax management service, advertised from €80 a month. Cairos is only the program: we do not keep anyone's books and we do not file on your behalf.

The underlying difference

The modules almost nobody else brings

They switch on in the settings when you say what kind of entity you are, and they are not charged separately, although not all of them are in the first paid plan: write to us and we will tell you which one you need. It is the youngest block in the program — inside the ERP it is marked as beta — and we would rather say so sooner than later. If your case is one of these, the comparison stops being about prices.

Members, fees and SEPA direct debit batches

A members' register with joiners, leavers and dates, recurring fees and their collection by direct debit, with a file for the bank and control of returned debits.

Donations and modelo 182

One-off and regular donors, certificates with the deduction each one is entitled to — recurrence worked out on its own — and the annual informative return.

Membership card with a QR code

It is scanned at the door and answers yes or no on the spot. Six designs, card size or eight to an A4 sheet, and suspension for non-payment without reprinting anything.

Cooperative surplus

The mandatory reserve fund, the education and promotion fund and the cooperative refund, with the percentages from whichever cooperatives act applies to you.

VAT-exempt club fees

What carries VAT and what does not in a sports club: membership fees, the school, the bar, sponsorship and ticket sales, each one on its own.

Grants with their evidence

What was awarded, what has been received in instalments and what spend is still to be evidenced before the deadline runs out. From the Cuarzo plan onwards.

Grants, volunteering and accounts

What is handed to beneficiaries recorded in its own grant accounts rather than as a purchase, volunteers with their insurance, and the draft accounts under the chart of accounts for non-profit organisations.

Recargo, IGIC, IPSI and modelo 720

Recargo de equivalencia for retailers, the Canary Islands' IGIC, the IPSI of Ceuta and Melilla, and the informative return on assets held abroad.

Cairos is new and small

We do not have the track record or the network of integrations of the programs you are comparing us with, and there are features of theirs that we do not provide: document scanning is the most obvious. We would rather you read it here than discover it in the second month. What you can do without risking anything is open the free account, put a month's invoices in and see whether anything is missing.

Try it with one month's invoices

It is the only comparison that is genuinely any use: the one you make with your own data.

Questions about this comparison

On the prices published on 25 August 2026, Cairos: comparing month by month against month by month, our first paid plan is €10 a month and Quipu's Starter plan was €17. Paying yearly, ours is €8 and theirs €14. But price is not the only thing: if document scanning or the bank connection really do save you hours, that difference pays for itself. Compare it against your own case, not against the table.
No. Quipu includes a number of scans a month in each plan and we do not sell that today. In Cairos an expense is recorded with its receipt attached, but you enter the amounts yourself. It is a real difference and it is worth being clear about before you switch.
Quipu advertises a bank connection on all its plans. In Cairos you work from the statement: you upload the bank's file — CSV, Excel or Norma 43 — and the program proposes the match for each entry with its invoice or its expense. It is included from the Ámbar plan, which is €25 a month, or €20 paying yearly. The details are on the page for small businesses.
Their site advertised «Adaptado a Verifactu» — adapted to Verifactu — on every plan on 25 August 2026, and Cairos has it included in all of its own, the free one too. The difference is not whether it complies, but from what price: in Cairos, from zero euros. What is required and from when is on the VeriFactu page.
Export contacts, products, invoices and expenses from your current account, and upload them in CSV or Excel. The process, column by column, is in migrate your data.

Compare it against your own case, not against the table

If you scan fifty invoices a month, that feature is worth more than any difference in price.
